Courtenay Cohousing is a forming multigenerational community in the Comox Valley, drawing members from all over BC, and beyond. We’re a group of people who value fun, connection, sustainability, and personal growth — and we’re building a community of 18 homes within easy biking distance of downtown Courtenay.
We aim to co-create a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood where people of all ages and backgrounds can thrive in both privacy and connection.

Located on a beautiful 2.5 acre site in Courtenay on Vancouver Island, BC:
20-minute walk / 5-minute bike to downtown

Bonus! We’re already 80% of the way to finished home designs! This reduces the load on members joining now, while still having many opportunities to make individual and collective decisions.

Members are working together to build a collaborative, inclusive governance model that balances effectiveness and equality through consent-based decision making and distributed leadership.

Home prices vary based on size and type. Current estimates are below. We’ll also pay monthly strata fees determined once all the site details are finalized.
-900 sq.ft. single level duplex (age-in-place friendly): $620,000
-1300 sq.ft. two level duplex (2 bedroom + den): $710,000
-1500 sq.ft. two level duplex (3 bedroom): $760,000

Do I have to spend all my time with neighbours?
Nope! You’ll have as much privacy as you want, in your own private home — and you’ll have as much community as you want, as well :)
What if I change my mind?
You’ll own your home and can sell it, ideally to another values-aligned buyer. We’re working on a supportive resale process.
